The Story: From One Client to a Platform

How We Started

The Planner Studio began in 2023 when founders Ricki Friis Sørensen and Nicklas Andersen decided to go deep into 3D Configurators. Their company had built a 3D configurator solution for Muuto, the renowned Danish furniture brand. The project revealed something significant: furniture brands everywhere were struggling with the same challenge – how to let customers truly experience and customize products online without the limitations of static product photography.

The demand was clear. Rather than building one-off solutions for individual brands, Ricki and Nicklas decided to create a platform that could serve the entire furniture industry. They wanted to build something that worked out of the box but remained flexible enough to adapt to each brand’s unique needs—from small boutique manufacturers to multi-market retailers.

Today, The Planner Studio serves furniture brands of all sizes across the globe, from our base in Copenhagen. What started as a solution for one client has become a platform powering furniture sales in over 15 countries, with more than 2 million furniture pieces configured by customers using our technology.
