How We Created a Seamless Customization Experience for Audo’s “Eave Collection”.
Audo Copenhagen, a Danish design company known for its high-quality furniture and lighting, wanted to improve the online shopping experience by allowing customers to fully customize their products.
We helped Audo achieve this by creating a 3D configurator for their Eave Collections, enabling customers to easily personalize and visualize their sofas online. This gives their users the flexibility to customize various elements of the Eave sofas, providing a detailed, interactive experience that brings the in-store process to the digital world.

Designing a Customized Sofa Experience Online
Audo needed a tool that would allow customers to design their perfect sofa from the comfort of their own homes, replicating the personalized experience usually found in physical stores. The challenge was to create an intuitive, interactive configurator that would let users visualize their customizations in real time. Our Modular functionality of the configurator allows customers to personalize one of the four Eave Collections – Eave Modular Sofa 96 cm (38”), Eave Dining Sofa, Eave Modular Sofa 86 cm (34”), or Eave Seamline Sofa. Our tool gives users the freedom to explore different combinations, enabling them to adjust fabric/upholstery, size, and configuration options to create a sofa that perfectly suits their preferences.
Dive Deep into the Customization process
With Audo’s Eave Collection, we set out to create a customization process that feels as tailored as the furniture itself. The configurator was designed to encourage creativity and ease. Instead of overwhelming the user with endless options, we focused on a streamlined yet flexible experience that lets customers experiment with the sofa’s design at their own pace.
The tool allows users to experiment with different combinations, providing real-time visual feedback for each choice they make. This flexibility is key to making sure the final design aligns perfectly with the customer’s vision, giving them a personalized experience similar to what they would receive in-store. With every change, customers see their design evolve in real time, making the customization process both engaging and satisfying.
Key features of the configurator
One of the standout features of the configurator is the Detailed View, which allows customers to zoom in on their customized sofas. This feature helps customers inspect the finer details of their design, such as fabric textures, stitching, and alignment. It provides a closer, clearer look at each design choice, boosting confidence in the purchase and reducing the uncertainty that can come with online shopping.
Additional Customization Tools
In addition to the Detailed View, the configurator offers several key features to enhance the customization experience. Customers can change fabrics/upholstery easily, switch to full-screen mode for an immersive view, and see the dimensions of their sofa. They can also save their design for later and download a PDF once they are satisfied with their customization. The AR feature allows users to visualize their sofa in their own space, making the design process more interactive and personalized.
Integration with Shopify
To ensure a seamless shopping experience, the configurator is fully integrated with Audo’s Shopify platform. This allows customers to smoothly transition from customization to purchase, with all selections carried over directly to the checkout process. The integration supports multiple languages and currencies, enabling Audo to effectively serve their global customer base, including markets in the EU and the US. This setup ensures a consistent, user-friendly experience across all regions.
