What file formats can specifiers get out of the configurator?
Three things come out of a finished configuration. Web-ready 3D for sharing, AR and visualisation (GLB, USDZ, Collada, OBJ). Structured order data - the full configuration, bill of materials and pricing - available via API for your systems to pull. And a CAD drawing: for specifier-facing ranges, we export the arranged configuration as a DXF plan in millimetres, with each module placed as a reusable block. AutoCAD opens it natively; every major CAD package imports DXF. We do not write native DWG or Revit files, we do not generate machine files for production, and the DXF is a plan view - tell us where your drawings need to end up and we will confirm the fit before you commit.
How long does a typical launch take?
Eight to twelve weeks from kickoff to live, depending on catalogue size and 3D asset readiness. We have launched faster when 3D files exist; longer when models must be created from scratch.
Do we need our own 3D team?
No. Most of our customers start from existing CAD or 3D files - we handle optimisation, web conversion and the configuration rules, so your team approves rather than produces. If models need creating from scratch, we scope that separately with specialised 3D modelling partners - raise it early, as asset availability is the main driver of timeline.
What does our sales team get out of it?
Every saved configuration lives on a link your team can open: the exact layout, parts list and pricing the specifier built. Saves are tracked, so sales follows up on a finished layout rather than a blank sheet - and the first call starts where the specifier stopped.
Can our own sales team use it, or is it only for architects?
Both. The same configurator works as a self-serve tool for specifiers and as an internal sales tool - configure, price and export the spec sheet in the meeting, while the client watches.
